Ski Trip
Ski Trip
On the 2nd of January 2011 until the 9th of January I went on a ski trip to New Hamshire in Boston for a school trip. This trip involved 32 students and the 4 teachers Ms Ni Mhuineachain, Ms Barret, Mr Abrahamiam and Ms Farrell.
On the 2nd of January all 32 of us students met at Dublin Airport for our 2 o’clock flight that afternoon. We then had a 6 and a half hour flight to Boston airport and arrived at Boston at 4 o’clock American time. We then collected our suitcases and went straight onto our coach which departed on a 2 and half our journey to our hotel in New Hampshire. We then arrived at our hotel at around 6:30-7:00. We then got assigned our rooms and got to have a look around at where we are staying for the next week. After dropping our bags in our rooms we went straight to the hotel for our dinner. After we had our dinner we had a talk about the rules of hotel and what we were going to be doing for the week, it sounded like it was going to be a great week but all we wanted to do that night was sleep and went straight to bed at 10 o’clock.
The next day we were up really early and went straight to breakfast in the hotel. We then departed for the Cannon Mountain which was where we were going to go skiing for two of the days on our trip. We had to get our ski rentals sorted before we could start skiing. We then got split into groups and showed us who our instructor was and he then showed us the basic skills and rules of skiing before we got started as most of us had never skied before. We then had 2 hours of lessons and in this time we got to learn all the different skills about skiing. After 2 hours we had lunch at the resort and then it was straight back out for more skiing.
After we finished our ski lessons we departed for the North Conway Outlets to do some shopping. After shopping for 2 hours we all went out for dinner in Applebees. After our dinner we went straight back to the hotel and straight to sleep for the next day.
The next morning we had a slightly later start as we didn’t need to get our ski rentals and could go straight out skiing.
We had 4 hours of ski lessons in cannon mountain and after our lessons we headed back for the ski lodge with our ski’s and had time to rest and relax after our day. That night we went to an ice-hockey match which was great fun.
The next morning we woke up early and got our ski’s and headed for the bus that was going to transport us to Loon Mountain. When we got here we got new instructors and got the chance to go on new slopes. We had 4 hours of ski lessons which was great fun as we had never been on these slopes. That evening we went to Manchester Mall to do some more shopping for the evening. After a stressful 2 hours of shopping we went straight back to the hotel and went straight to sleep.
The next day we went straight to Loon Mountain and got straight into our ski lessons, by this time the lessons were getting more difficult as the week was coming to an end. That evening we went to see a movie in the local cinema.
Our last day of skiing had arrived, so we got straight onto the bus and headed to Loon Mountain for the last time. The lessons we had this day were great fun as we had learned all our skills and could have fun with it and took loads of pictures. When it came to the end of our ski lessons we were all wrecked tired and gave back our ski’s. That evening we were getting ourselves packed as it was our last night and had an awards ceremony and a karaoke night.
We woke up early the next morning and got our suitcases onto the coach and got on our 2 and half hour journey to Boston city. When we arrived in Boston we got a guided tour of Boston city and had time to do some last minute shopping. We then arrived at Boston airport where we got on our flight to Dublin and said goodbye to Boston.
